The abundance of Oahu activities and tours the island offers will keep your family busy from sun up to sundown.   Top 100 Oahu activities including Waikiki beach walk, Polynesian Cultural Center, Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, and Pearl Harbor: 1. Waikiki Beach Walk - Walk from one end of Waikiki beach to the other in the sand. It's not too long of a walk, but lots to see! 2. Go surfing - You'll get a short surf lesson if you rent a surf board on the Waikiki beach, then you're off! 3. Visit the Polynesian Cultural Center - Plan to spend an afternoon at the Center and then do the luau and Polynesian evening show. Lots of fun! 4. Hike up Diamond Head for the best view in Oahu. The hike averages about 2 hours - can be done in a hour and 1/2 if you hike fast and it isn't crowded. First thing in the morning is the best time for the hike. 5. Shop at the International Marketplace. Best place to pick up a bunch of T-shirts at great prices. 6. Honolulu Sailing Co. Sail Oahu in 2 or 3 days. A great way to start or finish a vacation in Hawaii. 7. Attend a luau. The luau at the Polynesian Cultural Center (#3) is great but there are lots more luaus on the island. 8. Go snorkeling at the world-renown Hanauma Bay, Oahu's most popular snorkeling spot. They will have you watch a short film on snorkeling, then you can pay 50 cents to take a trolley the short distance down a hill to the bay where most people are snorkeling. (course they charge $1 to get back up the hill when you are tired from snorkeling!) 9. Visit the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. Plan to spend a few hours here. You will receive a ticket when you enter the USS Arizona museum for the short filmstrip you will see before you board a boat to the Memorial. At times it takes a couple of hours before your ticket number is called. 10. Meanwhile, while waiting to see the film for #9 above, visit the submarine at Pearl Harbor.
